If you’re familiar with your history, then you know all about royalty and how every luxury palace needs a ladies majlis. The women of the court (seems like a long time since anyone has been called that, no) were very influential members of the society and also prominent in the decision making process.
The latter part didn’t come naturally though; women have, since time memorial, have had to fight to be recognized. It is on the very fabric of this desire to be involved that the Ladies majlis became a thing.
So what is a Ladies majlis? It is a lounge in a luxury palace where women receive guests and entertain them. Let’s explore everything about the ladies’ majlis in every luxury palace.
The Architecture
The decoration of the ladies’ majlis is done strictly by the women since they have a unique taste for interior design and the elements of design. However, the architecture of the space is pretty much in line with the style of Arabian luxury palaces and the cultural heritage of places in this region.
The gypsum fretwork of the walls and ceiling have intricately cut and unbelievable patterns. The motifs and designs are nothing like we’ve ever seen. On the one hand, it looks like the patterns in ancient Mesopotamia; on the other hand, the stepped geometry and the Motif looks unique.

Consequently, high upper windows are principal features of the luxury palace ladies majlis to provide light and natural effect. Although, long shutter curtains control how much gets inside.
The upper pillared porticoes are also featured here. With a Corinthian order laced in pure gold and white body to match the color of the luxury palace ladies majlis.

It doesn’t matter if you have a luxury palace as big as this. Or even bigger! Everything we’ve seen here so far points to how much elegance the ladies majlis has acquired due to the exotic taste of the women of the court.
The architecture is mind-blowing: the motifs, the intricate geometry, then columns, the windows—just fascinating, really. However, the interior elements have given it the new life that it needs to put that final elegance into a display.
So, yes: what every luxury palace needs is a ladies majlis. And more importantly—ladies that will breathe life into the space.
